Connect:

  • Share how you have seen God in the Highs and Lows of your week.

  • Discuss how resolutions made last week in “growing more like Jesus” worked themselves out – what God did in and through you (Phil. 2:13) Celebrate and thank God for those together and pray with those who experienced some “Lows” this week, for God’s encouragement for them.

Prayer:

Pray that God would lead your discussion time and bring fresh insight, conviction, and hope through your time together.

Review:

We are launching into a new series looking at the mandate we have as Disciples of Jesus Christ to reach all peoples of the world with the message of the Gospel in a way that they can understand and respond to God’s offer of salvation!

The Grand Tour of the message: Thinking back on what you heard this Sunday…

o What did you learn about God?

o What did you learn about people?

o What did you learn about yourself?

o What do you want to commit to putting into practice?

Reflect:

If you have ever shared Jesus with someone from a very different culture than your own, describe that experience…

Read Matthew 22:36-40  The Great Commandment

o What results does Scripture speak of as we obey God's Great Commandment? (John 13:34-35, Matthew 5:16, 2 Corinthians 5:14=15,)

Read Matthew 28:18-20 The Great Commission

o What is the status of those who have not yet received Christ as Savior and Lord? (John 3:16-18, Ephesians 2:1-7, 2 Corinthians 4:3-4,)

o How does Jesus' command to make disciples of ALL nations, or as the original Greek expresses it, ethnic people groups, confirm God's plan throughout the Old as well as the NewTestament? ( Psalm 67:1-3 and 96:1-4,  Acts 17:26-27, 2 Peter 3:9)

o What did Jesus mean when He said "I am with you always, to the end of the age"? (Zechariah 4:6, John 15:26,  Romans 10:14-15, Acts 1:8,)

o How did Jesus prepare us for the challenges that can come when we move forward in obedience to His Great Commission? ( John 15:16-20, Luke 21:10-19, Matthew 6:31-33,)

o How does God reward this obedience in witnessing to the unreached? ( Daniel 12:3, Acts 8:26-39 and 10:30-48,)

o How might we begin asking God how He wants us to join Him in reaching the unreached people groups? ( James 1:5, Matthew 9:37-38, 2 Timothy 3:14-17

Respond:

Mark ended the message this week by reminding us that as we draw closer to God, He will draw closer to us, and we will increasingly feel HIS passion to see the nations come to rejoice In HIS Glory!
