Pray that God would lead your discussion time and bring fresh insight, conviction, and hope through your time together.
Review:
We use the term Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is certainly in the Bible, and he indwells every follower of Jesus. But there remains an element of ignorance, confusion, and even reluctance to explore the topic much further. And yet the irony is that the Holy Spirit is so critical to what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. This week we are laying the foundation of our series by looking at the Person of the Holy Spirit in Scripture…
The Grand Tour of the message: Thinking back on what you heard this Sunday…
o What did you learn about God?
o What did you learn about people?
o What did you learn about yourself?
o What do you want to commit to putting into practice?
Reflection:
Personal Experience:
Share about a time where God did something truly miraculous. Not “I got the job” or “Wow, thank God I found my keys” but rather truly supernatural.
Maybe someone in your group had a dream or a vision from the Lord, maybe it was seeing or experiencing a gift of the Spirit like speaking in tongues or a word of knowledge, physical healing or immediate freedom from an addiction that had you bound.
What happened and how did it affect the way you relate to God?

Where do we see the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament? (Gen 1:1-2, Exodus 31:2-3, 1 Sam 10:9-10, Joel 2:28-29, Ps 51:10,11)
Where do we see Father, Son and Holy Spirit all working together in Scripture (John 1:1-3, Gen 1:1-2, Matt 3:16-17, Matt 28:18-19, John 14: 16-17, 26, Acts 2:33, Eph 1:3-14, 2 Cor 13:14, Rev 1:4-5)?
Scripture talks about the Holy Spirit’s “witness” in our hearts, “Searching” our hearts. WHat does this mean? (Rom 8:16,27; Eph 4:30, 1 Cor 2:10-11, Gal 4:6, Acts 15:8, 1 John 3:24, John 14:17)
The Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Triune God. Lets talk about that:
He is God (Acts 5:3-4)
He is Omniscient (1 Cor 2:11)
He is omnipresent (Ps 139:7-8)
He is omnipotent ( Luke 1:37)
What difference does it make that we are “born of the Spirit” (John 3:16-18, Titus 3:5, 1 John 5:4, 1 Peter 1:3) when we recognize these qualities about Him?
Worship (John 4:23,24, Eph 5:18-19, Phil 3:3, 2 Cor 3:17-18, 2 Cor 12:3, Gal 4:6)
Guidance (John 16:33, Rom 8:14, Gal 5:16)
Power (Acts 1:8, Eph 3:16, 2 Tim 1:7, Rom 15:13)
Application:
If the Holy Spirit withdrew from your life for a week, would anyone notice?
Prayer:
Spend some time in prayer for the presence and work of the Holy Spirit t be evident in your life, family and ministry.
